Confidential is Hiring a Controller Near Pembroke, FL

Company located in Pembroke Pines is seeking an immediate Controller.

The position is fundamental to all functions of the property and includes working closely with the Association Board of Directors, Supervisors, and the General Manger to manage and operate the association and facilitate solutions to problems within the community.

The Controller oversees all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with GAAP standards and regulatory requirements. Analyze financial data and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner; clearly communicate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

The position will also be responsible for Financial Statements preparation, Balance Sheet Reconciliations, including but not limited to, bank recs, monthly journal entries, allocations, Budget vs. Actual Analysis, Budgeting support with Management, and delineate AP and AR.

Experience with HR and payroll preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Guides financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures.
  • Maintain internal control and safeguards for receipt of revenue, costs, budgets, and actual expenditures.
  • Developing internal control guidelines, policies and procedures for budget accounting, cash management, administration, and other activities.
  • Monitors and confirms financial condition by conducting internal audits and providing information to external auditors.
  • Collects, analyzes, and consolidates financial data to recommend future financial plans.
  • Provides status of financial condition by collecting, interpreting, and reporting financial data. Prepare financial statements, reports, and analyses for the Board, management, and other entities.
  • Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing variances, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Creating budgets and forecasts.
  • Guiding financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures.
  • Providing support to management, particularly in financial matters.
  • Maintain updated and accurate records.
  • Direct accounting, audit, cash flow, debt, payroll, banking, and reporting.
  • Prepare, implement, and monitor an annual budget.
  • Communicate with and assist with financial matters and collections.
  • Executes the month-end and year-end close process.
  • Perform and supervise accounting functions of payables, receivables, banking, and invoicing- including member billing and records, and payroll.
  • Work with outside vendors, purchase requisitions and purchase orders, and contract follow-through.
  • Review and update the financial procedures of the organization.
  • Maintain work papers and accurate records for annual audit.
  • Supervision of the accounting and billing office and staff
  • Uploads biweekly payroll journal entry and verifies accuracy and prepares additional allocations of salaries and benefits per grantor requirements and

monthly payroll accruals.

Education

Required

  • Accounting degree

Preferred

  • Bachelors Degree or higher

Certifications & Licenses: CAM license preferred

While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to stand, and use hands and fingers to handle, or feel. The associate frequently is required to reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The associate is occasionally required to sit; walk; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The associate must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
